Chapter 8: Now it's war
After a bit of a long walk into the wild, they eventually reached a strange, desolate zone. It had a lot of metallic debris all around, but it was actually well hidden around trees and such. Kinda looked like an abandoned city after a war. Lavvy blinked confused, now helped by Cabal to walk. "… I don't get it, guys… There's just junk here…"
Mint just smiled back. "That's on the outside!" She called along a lot of rodent and digging infected. Scanning the ground they found an empty pocked. They dug further into the ground until they met a series of tunnels. The tunnels were INCREDIBLY deep, so it looked like it was nothing to be found here. Lavvy was getting impatient again, and the blood loss was annoying her quite a bit at this point.
Later on, they finally reached something: a base. A base that slid very very far underground, so much that the GG didn't bother inspecting. Around, the rooms were still in good shape and there was still things like furniture, equipment and such. The infected all looked around. Some used to the poor treatment were happy to see a refuge, some newer infected were a bit disappointed. Lavvy was just relieved. She had a place to hide all this army she created. As such, everybody started working trying to refurbish the base. Digging deeper they actually discovered a hot spring as well!
Later on, after being bandaged by Mint, with some equipment she carried. Lavvy was lost in thought sitting in one of the rooms she decided to keep as a room. Nothing much in it so far, but that's not what bugged her. How can someone change from being a lone wolf to the leader of the pack. She sighed, this was all too insane, even for her. Still, the tomboy was still boiling with rage, all because of that loss against Hadrea. A rematch would be needed.
Suddenly, a knock at the door. "Yeah?" Mint came in smiling. "Hello leader!" Lavvy facepalmed at the greeting. "Please, don't call me that… I am so not used to this…" Cabal soon followed. "You're going to have to." Lavvy sighed. "I like it when people are direct, but you're too much… Why won't you guys be leaders? Look at me! I'm insane and much younger then both of you!"
"True, but you're the one who actually started this. You said it yourself, what this needed was a little insanity. Plus you admitted to becoming the leader." Cabal's words hit like a rock. "…come on, it was still after being drugged…" She groaned. "So you regret freeing all of those infected?" Cabal asked again. "No! Of course not!... I mean…well, somebody has to do it!"
"Exactly!" Mint smiled, only making Lavvy more stressed. "Look, we're not exactly leader material, but I am a doctor and Cabal here, from what I heard, used to train new bodyguards. That might help!" She tried to cheer the new leader up, but only made her frown more. "So I need to find some people willing to help me with this… sheesh…" She rubbed her forehead. "Might be easier just to form a ranking system. "Cabal suggested. "But first, get some REAL sleep." Lavvy frowned at this. " I can sleep after all this?"
"Well, if you listen to your body more then your mind, then you should be sleeping for a week…" Mint commented. "But I still need to find people to help me run this…" The tomboy rubbed her head. "Again, you need rest. Just sleep and we'll think about it later. I am pretty sure you'll know who fits the bill…" Cabal commented again." I am so going to become a grump with all of this…" Lavvy commented. "Aren't you already one?" Now she was getting pissed at Cabal. "A WORSE grump!"
"Just relaaaaax…" Mint smiled nervous. After a bit of more talking, Lavinia was trying to sleep at the sloppily made bed. The problem wasn't that it wasn't a 5 star mattress, she was used to sleep on poor furniture, but still of that loss. "You know, I could have beaten her for you…" The wolf parasite commented again. "You REALLY want out, do you?" Only to make her more pissed. "Of course I do, I am the Alpha!... but I'll admit… what you did back there did make me rethink of you…" The parasite grumbled a bit at those words, as if it were embarrassed. "I still lost to that big mouth, that's what annoys me…" Lavvy frowned. "Hey, she had a few cheap shots!... well, you don't expect to beat the leader of another pack so fast, now do you?"
"… that doesn't help, I have to get to training again.. harder!" The wolf paused. "Training?" Lavvy grinned. "Well, duh! I didn't get muscles from nothing!... especially since I'm a girl… and I think these guys might need some…" The wolf paused for a few seconds."… you are cruel…"
"ARE YOU READING MY MIND?!" Lavvy suddenly snapped. "Wow, you are slow…" Then a few moments of silence came. "So will you let me control now?"
Back at the main building of the Global Government there was a meeting. The infected rebellion shook the Heads quite a bit, especially Sebastien. His face was bandaged in an X around it, but the bandages weren't tied perfect and it was obvious, the wound was deep and when it would heal, it would for sure leave a scar. And he did look very shaken up. "I-I …. I think this is a very serious problem…" He spoke up. "Infected up until now ere either too wild, too scared or too confused to actually give a challenged… but this Maruku just did what we dreaded the most…"
"Then that just means we'll have to fight fire with fire…" An older man spoke up. He was strangely buff and actually looked younger then he was supposed to be." My daughter has trained to lead and to use the infected to their maximum abilities. There is no way this insane stray can actually manage to defeat neither her, nor the Tamed, nor my troops!" He slammed his fist onto the table, making the other Heads jump a little."…haha, sorry about that… Regardless, I will inform my men to take this hunting more serious, and I am pretty sure the Tamed will be well prepared…"
Outside the Meeting Hall Hadrea was waiting. She was pretty bandaged up as well, especially around the head. She growled. Humans were nor barely getting the trust of the infected and the Tamed. Now she made her plans even tougher. As well as, due to her running mouth, Lavvy knew her plans. Actually ,more of the infected that were in captivity knew. But the fact that they would tell didn't worry her. Who would have believed THEM? However, she knew this group would be fighting that plot as well. "You want to play leader, do you, Maruku? Well guess what… it's game on…"
