Chapter 3: Infection

Lavinia continued to run so fast, eventually stopping in an alley, to catch her breath." Never do that again, never do that again, never ever never!" She huffed, looking back. The base seemingly quieted down. Of course, it would be embarrassing explaining a Lower Grounds resident did that. Even after all that insane almost deadly experience, she couldn't help but be a bit proud, even though she was covered in wounds from the force of that gun and sliding down that metal rope didn't do too well on hands, still that would heal in less then a week, and she felt proud surviving all that. "Now everything is okay…"
Suddenly, a nearby manhole started shaking. It was emanating strange breathing sounds. "…now you're telling me I have to fight sewer crocs…" Lavvy commented sarcastically, but actually fairly scared by whatever would come out of the sewers. Her eyes widened as the strange wolf-like creature squirmed out. "…sure, when I act like an ass, this happens… karma, you are a bitch…". The parasite looked up, as if it was hungry, really really hungry. It almost seemed to enjoy the sheer irony of the moment: getting a little payback. Lavvy got the pipe she had with her." You stay there and I won't splatter your brains out…" She warned a bit shaking.
The parasite however wasted no time and quickly leaped, aiming for her. Lavinia swung the pipe like a bat, managing to hit the creature… but it was barely affected. It only clinged to the pipe. "…what are you…?" The parasite just continued to squirm down the pipe, still aiming to attack. Lavvy just threw the pipe to the ground, as she started running from it, still tired, but not tired enough to get away from this monster. The creature just stared up and looked around… ready to follow.
Lavvy ran through the alley, making twists and turns. She wasn't familiar with this part of the city, after a while she encountered a dead end. "…oh no…" She stopped, screeching to a halt, as she turned her back on the dead end looking back to see if the parasite followed. She was breathing hard, keeping eyes focused. Yet…. Nobody seemed to come that way. Not even the wind was blowing. She started to calm down. "…I guess that thing isn't so fast on ground…." The tomboy sighed in relief.
Not aware of the danger. Over the head on the wall, the creature managed to sneak through a water pipe placed up, on it. It slowly squirmed like a predator, ready to hunt. Eventually, Lavvy did notice it… too late as it leaped.
"AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"  The blood flew up, as grotesque skin crawling sounds were heard. The creature actually entered through the left eye, breaking it, squirming into the head, as the skin bulged up to make room for it to enter, squirming down. The pain was unbearable, both burning and stinging, paralyzing Lavinia into place. The process seemed to last an eternity.
But in fact it lasted less then a minute. The parasite was gone, now comfortably in the body, as Lavvy kneeled down, huffing, covering her left eye, now missing, to keep too much blood from flying out. " The fucker… he ripped my damn eye out… great…" Lavvy grumbled, body still shaking. She put her hand down, trying to get used to the missing eye. All she could see with the left half was red, pure red. She cursed again.
Suddenly the red slowly started to get blurry, forming shadows. Patched of red were starting to disappear and clarify, until, eventually, she got all of her vision back. The tomboy blinked surprised, as she touched her eye again, definitely back. Now around the eye she could feel something pulsating, but she just assumed it was a wound after the scratch. What was more amazing was being able to see again. "…but… but it was gone… Okay, I am no firkin doctor, but I am sure eyes don't regrow!... even if they do, not that fast!" She noticed her vision was better and the pain from the force wounds and the hand sliding were gone. "…I think I'm going nuts…"

Suddenly, her head started thumping. Thump thump thump! Almost like someone smashing her head in constantly with a bat. She grasped her head. "What's happening…?!" The thumping was getting worse, clearly meant for her to faint, as it was also producing pain." Gah!" Lavinia got her hand off her head and looked at it, as it started shaping, gaining claws and thumb retracting in the hands. She felt hair growing as well as a muzzle was starting to shape." Grrragh!" Getting on all fours, control was slowly starting to loose. The body was cracking and the skin was crawling, shaping. The clothes were beginning to either rip or slid off the body, slowly. Neon blue tattoos appeared on the cheek and on the shoulders. Going from a human to a wolf… or as close as a wolf can come from the morph, still keeping bald limbs and neck.
Still, in control it wasn't the same person, it was now the parasite. The animal mind, sniffing around and adjusting to the body. It was happy and it looked proud. No pack to lead annoyed him however, for the sheer instinct of a wolf and the fact that this parasite was very territorial. It was content with just dominating this human… for now.
One thing was for sure, after spending so much time as a parasite, it was hungry. Hungry for some real food, not stupid artificial food, made by scientists. As such it started sniffing around, knocking over trash cans and trash bins. To his disappointment, it found a lot of artificial flavors, that it quickly threw out in violent manners, making a mess. Eventually, it found something: a bone. At this point, the marrow from a pure bone seemed like a huge chunk of deer. He happily dug it out and started munching it.

The wolf's pleasure was quickly interrupted. With it's keen smell returned it smelled and opponent… or , more correctly too. " That's a parasitic, Cabal… be careful… " A female voice was heard. The wolf quickly startled up, growling, it quickly got up, looking in the direction of the voice. There were two humans: a black, tall man, with blond hair, with strange green and yellow eyes and a young woman, with brown hair tied in a pigtail, with big pitch black eyes. The woman was nervous, but the man, Cabal, showed no fear. "Hmm, seems recently transformed…" He slowly got closer.
The wolf snapped, growling and snarling as the man approached. " That is not your body, how about you shift back and I won't inflict pain on both of you?" The wolfs eyes widened, give the body back after so long? Never! With that it quickly leaped, ready to turn the man into his next juicy meal.
"Eeeek! Cabal!" The woman screamed, but the man was still calm. He began shifting. Clothes were retracting into his belt and his pants were getting shorter. Muscles were bulging up and a muzzle was shaping. Over his body, scales started to craw, as horns raised from the head. Eventually, the back of the skull formed a weird shape. Now he looked like he was half dinosaur, more specifically half styracsosaurus. He raised his arms off catching the wolf… yet his strength caught him off guard as it actually managed to slam him to the ground. It clinged unto the wolf's jaws, making sure those fangs wouldn't snap his head in half, while the wolf continued to push. The woman started shaping as well, growing fur in only a few spaces, as she looked more like a hamster. Actually she was half pygmy jerboa. "Stop, please! Wake up, the parasite is controlling you!"
Lavinia showed no sign of waking up, as the parasite continued to push closer to Cabal's face." No use, Mint! This parasite is way too wild and I'm pretty sure the human won't listen to reason… so…" He snapped the wolf's jaw shout as he moved his own head closer. " Hey you, idiot, are you really going to let this beast control you? Are you that pathetic to loose to an animal?! Are you that WEAK?!"

All those words sparked something inside, especially the last one. Mint calmed down as the wolf backed away, yelping and running in circles. It was dragging it's head on the ground. "Get out…" Inside was a battle of willpower and mind. "IT'S MY BODY!" Suddenly the wolf howled. The body began to shape, the front legs were slowly turning into arms, thumbs reshaping and fur growing on the lower half of the arm. The legs were becoming bipedal, but still digitigrated, as the fur crawled down till the knees… the head was rounding up a bit, and from the back, a long strand of hair grew out. The chest was now presenting some small breast shapes and the abdomen was now hairless, showing abs. The tattoos gained a different shape. The werewolf now slowly raised up, holding her head. "…nngh… what…?" She got to check herself again, now in control, but quickly falling down, too tired from that mental battle.
Cabal got up, shaking himself. " You okay?" Mint asked. "Yeah, muscles a bit tense and a few scratches… That was surprisingly hard…" Cabal commented, reverting along with the woman, the clothes reappearing. Mint turned to look worried at the new KOed werewolf. "We can't just let her like that, it's easy prey for the GG. Cabal sighed, a bit annoyed by her care, but nodded. "Alright, at least now that the human is in control… Just pray it's not some kind of an asshole…." Mint smiled playfully. "How bad can a girl be?"
And now, chapter 3!... where everything turns form bad to worse...
Yeah, in terms of parasite infection, swallowing it has to be the least painful way... but getting penetrated in the head is one of the worst...
And yes, eyes ripped out or shattered can reheal, no matter the parasite, that's why there are so little blind infected, unelss they are naturally blind.
Oh look, new important characters!... and not such a nice first meeting...
