. And the first time I was commissioned to draw a canon character.
I effin love Jasper soooo much, so I was glad for this. Only it's Jasper from her Mergem AU, where the gems come from the ocean and are mermaids. Still have the same powers and stuff but... mermaids.

FFFFFF, god this was fun... Holly shit, it's been such a longt time drawing a canon chara. Ignoring species like digimon and pokemon, as well as characters specifically created to partner up with a customizable character, like Leonidas from Bakugan. And in case you wonder "Lavvy, if you enjoy drawing canon stuff, why don't you do it more often?"
WELL, firsly, I'm busy, and secondly... eeeeh, I have several issues with posting fanart of canon charas... It's a weird thing of mine.
I still sketch em for practice tho, and am perfectly willing to take them as commissons.

Vision Originality Technique ImpactI think you did very well with the colors, and, honestly, I think the shark part gives her character. You did a great job with her surroundings, as well! The shading is amazing, and I love the eyes. The only thing in this art I think isn't so great are the fins on her head. They look like ears, and both Shark nor Gem have ears. The rest of her looks perfect, and don't let haters tell you otherwise. Overall, I believe this is an amazing work, and I also encourage you to continue with your art in every way possible! You go!
